Wow, very well written and spot on. I can relate to this story because my father is a diplomat so I moved around all the time and attended many schools in different countries. I also completed my undergraduate degree in Australia and then an M.B.A in Europe and the different systems are so apparent.

Well done Barbara, I enjoyed reading your story.

Good luck with everything in the future.

Hej Birgitta,

Margareta

Comment on Is marriage just a social status symbol? by Stephanie Blair

Might be a cliche but I think marriage is something that isn't really prioritized. I mean as long as you guys love each other right? If the couple is ready and have enough money for the responsibilities ahead, then they should go for it. but for the latter, waiting is always something that they can do. If you guys are meant to be I believe you'd be together no matter how long the wait is.
I am waiting though and is not in a hurry. Marriage is something that you and your partner should think of for a long time.

In my opinion, everyone is not safe. I mean who know maybe in a few days you might lose your job, it is always possible and I have seen it all the time. So I am thankful that I even have a job. It may not be a job that I have imagined myself doing but at least it gives me enough to pay the rent and live on. One thing I'm afraid if ever would be losing the benefits that I get from the company. I saw this while reading seem
articles:

Again it might be a possibility. I am sticking to my job because of the insurance benefit, I sure hope that my company wouldn't do the same.

I agree and I do pay for the work. I am thinking if I should have someone work for me full time and do the laundry and cleaning. I'm not too sure if that is a really great idea, I'm not sure if I can spare a few bucks for it because I am thinking of starting to beef up my savings.

I think that's totally fine, as long as you pay a living wage to the person doing that work (and even if you are paying an agency what seems like a lot of money, the actual worker may be getting a very small cut) and contributing to their social security taxes like any other employer.

For a busy girl like me, I find it easier to have someone clean and do errands around the house for me. f not, my house would be a disaster.

I love this idea! I do not want kids, but have work with a few people while they have had three kids!!!!! that's 9 months off- just for using your uterus after well timed sex. I could use some family time or personal time to pursue my own life pursuits.
